Alberta Seed Processors’ Board of Directors Announces Election results, Executive For 2021

The Alberta Seed Processors’ (ASP) provincial Board of Directors are pleased to announce the results of last November’s online elections for Regions 1 (southern Alberta), 2 (south-central Alberta) and 7 (Peace).

The incumbents for Regions 1 & 2, Todd McCannand Doug Sell, were re-elected for another three-year term by acclamation. Mike Head, Director for Region 7, was first appointed to the Board in March 2020 to fill a vacancy was also elected by acclamation to serve a two-year term, in keeping with the organization’s election cycle.

Further, the ASP Manager’s Association has appointed Hugh Baier (Provost) and Greg Andrews (Three Hills) as representatives on the provincial Board.

Tom Coppock, ASP President

In other organizational news, Tom Coppock has been elected ASP President.

Coppock lives in Castor, AB, with his wife Wendy and farms cattle and grain. He is also the Chair of the Alliance Seed Plant in Alliance, AB.

“I am grateful that my fellow Board members have trusted me with this position,” Coppock says. “I am committed to ensuring ASP represents our members and works towards a bright, profitable future for the entire value chain.”

Coppock was originally elected to the Board in January 2017 to represent Region 3, located in central-eastern Alberta. He is serving his second year as president.

Doug Sell has been re-elected as ASP’s Vice-President. Sell has been happily farming since 1978. His farm is located approximately 25 miles north of Strathmore, in the Rosebud River Valley. Sell is serving his second year as Vice-President, as is the Regional Director for Region 2.
