Plant Operator / Grain Handling Operator – Leadership Opportunity

K.I.B.A. Seed Cleaning Plant Limited is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Plant Operator / Grain Handling Operator to join our team. This full-time, year-round position offers a competitive wage based on experience, a comprehensive benefits package, paid training, and the opportunity to advance into an Assistant Manager role.

Working alongside the Plant Manager, you will receive training in all aspects of seed plant operations, including grain handling, seed cleaning, seed treatment, equipment operation, maintenance, and customer service.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate seed cleaning, conveying, and grain handling equipment.
  • Receive, clean, treat, transfer, and load seed products safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor equipment performance and assist with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. Perform routine inspections, housekeeping, and general plant maintenance.
  • Assist with scheduling, inventory, production records, and daily plant operations.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Learn all aspects of plant operations with the opportunity to assume increased responsibilities over time.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working around conveyors, augers, elevators, bins, and other grain handling equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in agriculture, grain handling, seed cleaning, manufacturing, or industrial operations is an asset.
  • Seed treatment certification is an asset; training will be provided.

Is a growing, progressive Seed Processing Facility. We are looking for a:

FULL-TIME PLANT OPERATOR

Qualifications:

  • Agricultural and/or mechanical background is an asset
  • Pesticide Applicator Certificate is an asset but not necessary
  • Must be able to work within operational policies/procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail and quality of work performed

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Operation and maintenance of all seed cleaning equipment
  • Must be willing to work extended hours during our busy season
  • Take samples of each customer
  • Loading/unloading of trucks
  • Able to use a computer
  • Maintain cleanliness within and around the seed cleaning facility
  • Respectful customer service
